Lisbon Treaty voting in Dublin South-West constituency

The Lisbon Treaty was rejected on Thursday 12th June 2008 by Irish voters. The national vote was 46.6% Yes and 53.4% No.

In the Dublin South-West constituency, the vote was 34.9% Yes and 65.1% No.

Flybus Service - Tallaght to Airport

Eirebus Ltd has commenced a bus service -- Flybus -- for persons wishing to travel from Dublin South-West to Dublin Airport. With a terminus in The Square, Tallaght, the daily service commences at 4.00am with fares of €8 per adult and concessions for children, students and the elderly.

The company's website says: "Departing from Tallaght (The Square), Clondalkin (The Mill) and Lucan (Liffey Valley Shopping Centre) and travelling direct to Dublin Airport along the M50. Passengers can enjoy the luxury and comfort of air-conditioned, seat belted and the latest low emission engine coaches getting to and from the Airport without the hassle and expense of driving and parking."

Car Boot Sales, Tallaght

The Car Boot Sales are starting up again on Saturday 26th April, 2008. Sellers are advised to arrive [at St Maelruain's Parish Centre, Tallaght Village] shortly after 8.00am to be sure of a space. The gates open to the general public at 10.00am.

The charge for cars is €15.00 and €20.00 for vans. For any further information phone the parish office at 462 6006.

The dates for the season are: 26th April, 24th May, 21st June, 5th July, 19th July, 9th August, 23rd August and 6th Sept 2008.

Bin collection in South Dublin, St Patrick's and Easter weekends

There will be NO refuse collection service on St. Patrick’s Day - Monday 17th March 2008.
This collection will take place instead on the previous Saturday 15th March 2008.

There will be a service as normal on Good Friday 21st March 2008.

There will be NO refuse collection service on Easter Monday 24th March 2008.
This collection will take place instead on the previous Saturday 22nd March 2008.

Bins should be left out at 7.00am and have both a correct authorisation label and a bin tag of appropriate value affixed to the bin. Bin lids should be fully closed and the bin should not be overloaded.
