SDCC: Refuse Collection May Bank Holiday Weekend

There will be no refuse collection service in South Dublin County on the May Bank Holiday, Monday 7th May 2007.

Householders whose refuse is normally collected on a Monday will receive their collection on the previous Saturday 5th May 2007.

Refuse bins should be left out by 7.30 a.m. for collection.

Please ensure that your roadway is kept clear of parked cars/vehicles on refuse collection day so as to ensure refuse freighters can gain access.

Please note that in accordance with the Bye-laws governing the presentation of waste, the lid of the bin must be fully closed.

The Council has received complaints of bin tags being stolen in some areas. Accordingly, the tag should not be placed on your bin before 7.30 on the morning of your collection.

Green Bin Collection
Householders whose green bins are usually collected around the 7th of the month should check their Green Bin Calendar for alternative arrangements or contact the Oxigen Helpline at 01 - 462 4459.

Bin collection details for St Patrick's Weekend

REFUSE COLLECTION ST. PATRICK'S WEEKEND

There will be no refuse collection service in South Dublin County on St. Patrick’s Day, Saturday 17th March 2007.

Householders whose refuse is normally collected on a Monday will receive their collection as usual on Monday 19th March 2007.

Refuse bins should be left out by 7.30 a.m. for collection.

Please ensure that your roadway is kept clear of parked cars/vehicles on refuse collection day so as to ensure refuse freighters can gain access.

Recycling in South Dublin County area Christmas & New year

Green Bins

Additional dry recyclable material may be left beside the Green Bin from 18th December to 27th January 2007 only provided

  • It is clean and bound securely
  • It is left in a safe manner for collection
  • It contains material that normally goes into the Green Bin only.
  • The material should not be put in a plastic bag. Large cardboard boxes and sheets of cardboard should be cut into smaller pieces or brought to the nearest Civic Amenity Centre.

South Dublin County Councils Civic Amenity Facility at Ballymount will be closed on Christmas Day, St. Stephens Day and New Years Day.

No new bin labels in 2007: Council

South Dublin County Council has confirmed that customers using their domestic refuse collection service will not be receiving a new authorisation label in early 2007.

Instead, the purple "Jan-07" label, supplied in 2006, will continue to be valid into 2007 past the January expiry. Bin tags will still be in use in 2007.

Christmas & New Year Refuse Collection, SDCC area

Refuse Collection Service arrangements for Christmas and New Year

Over the Christmas/New Year holiday period special arrangements have been put in place by South Dublin County Council to ensure a refuse collection for householders in the County.

The refuse collection service in South Dublin County will operate as usual except for the following dates:

Collections due on Monday 25th December 2006 will take place on Saturday 23rd December.
Collections due on Tuesday 26th December will take place on Saturday 30th December.
Collections due on Monday 1st January will take place on Saturday 6th January.
