Firhouse Artist has Exhibition in County Hall

Mayor Eamonn Maloney on behalf of the members of South Dublin Council will officially launch Agespays an exhibition of paintings by Brian Duignan, in County Hall, Tallaght on Thursday 8th March at 7pm.

Brian Duignan, a young artist from Firhouse is in his final year of Fine Art and has been involved in community projects with the Mater Hospital and Firhouse Community College. He has exhibited in several Group exhibitions in Dublin as well as in La Compangie la Perriere, France.

This exhibition Agespays uses an interpretation of the landscape of Brittany France, and with titles like Port de Plaisance, Larmor Plage Triptych,Ville andVie, the French connections are very clear. The artist explores the concept of an abstract landscape by investigating the relationship of horizon lines in the landscape. This plays on the ideas of Verlou, French slang where words are cut in half and reversed, which has influenced this re-evaluation and re-invention of the landscape. This has been achieved mainly through the process of layering paint and embroidery representing line.

The exhibition runs for two weeks from 6th to the 23rd of March
