BCI and Community Stations descend on Tallaght to Talk

Representatives from The Broadcasting Commission of Ireland (BCI), the Community Radio Association of Ireland (CRAOL), community station Dublin South FM and special interest station Dublin City FM descend on Tallaght in February to talk about community radio.

Following the temporary cessation of regular broadcasts from Tallaght FM, the Tallaght Community Radio Forum have invited the BCI, CRAOL and two community style radio stations to Tallaght to participate in a seminar on community radio. Partas, the local enterprise and social economy organisation, has also been invited to attend. The seminar is entitled “Community Radio in 2008” and is intended to advance the awareness of community radio in Tallaght prior to Tallaght FM’s return to the airwaves. The seminar takes place in the Tymon Bawn Community Centre, Firhouse Road West, Aylesbury, Tallaght on Saturday 16th February between 2pm and 6pm. Admission free.

Members of Tallaght Community Radio Co-operative Society Ltd, participants in the present radio project (TALLAGHT 99FM), media students and any other interested parties, including the public, are welcome to attend. Refreshments will be served.

Tallaght Community Radio Forum (TCRF) has been set up by local Community Radio enthusiasts John Conroy, Joe Kearney and Ralph McGarry, to provide a platform for debate around Community Radio and community issues relating to radio.
